Description
This dataset contains a list of named invasive species discovered in Hawaii's islands with the corresponding taxonomic and geographical information.
Data Records
The data in this checklist resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 21 records.
1 extension data tables also exist. An extension record supplies extra information about a core record. The number of records in each extension data table is illustrated below.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.
Versions
The table below shows only published versions of the resource that are publicly accessible.

Geographic Coverage
The invasive species tracking activities were conducted on Hawaii's islands.
Bounding Coordinates | South West [18.438, -160.928], North East [22.999, -154.248] |

Sampling Methods
Guided by the local ISC Early Detection Technicians and Student Mentors, the participants identified the listed target species and took photos of them using GPS-enabled mobile phones. The details describing every observation of the target invasive species were recorded using a digital data collection form. The participants later uploaded the images captured on mobile phones and assigned latitude and longitude coordinates to each observation using Google Maps.
Study Extent | The project was a long-term project conducted on the Hawaiian islands. |

Method step description:
- First, identify any of the 21 target invasive species. Take 1-3 photos of the target species identified. Record any details available regarding the observation in the digital form provided. Click on the location on Google Maps to assign latitude and longitude coordinates to each observation encountered.
