Description

The Avifaunal diversity study of Garhwal-Himalayan Range was conducted by Nature Mates Nature Club in May month of year 2022 Lina Chatterjee and the identification and data analysis was by Nature Mates-Nature Club team. This dataset covers the areas of Rudraprayag, Chamoli districts under Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary and Bageshwar. The study area covered varied habitats like Oak-Rhododendron forest, Rhododendron rich Subalpine forest, Alpine grassland-Bugyal exposed rock, Subtropical Pine forest, Temperate Oak forest, Maple forest, Subalpine Oak forest, Fir forest, Birch-Rhododendron forest and, Cultivation patches. All the species are identified up to the species level. A total of 103 species of birds are recorded belonging to 76 genera, 38 families and, 12 orders. This dataset also includes the life stage, activity and behavior of the birds observed. Both the male and female of Himalayan Monal (Lophophorus impejanus), the state bird of Uttarakhand were recorded during the avifaunal diversity study .

Data Records

The data in this sampling event resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 7 records.

1 extension data tables also exist. An extension record supplies extra information about a core record. The number of records in each extension data table is illustrated below.

This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.
